V preteklosti je Dolenje Jezero s
Cerknico povezovala precej ožja
makadamska cesta. Ker je bila nižja od
polja, so pozimi nastajali zameti in je
bilo lažje hoditi ob njej po spihanih
njivah. Ob cesti je bil v začetku 20.
stoletja zasajen hruškov drevored, ki je
bil v viharju leta 1965 v celoti uničen.
Pravijo, da je bil zasajen v pomoč
Jezercem, da bi v snežnih metežih in
temnih nočeh ali megli lažje našli pot
domov.
Cerknico povezovala precej ožja

way home in snowstorms and dark
