Ulične table v Cerknici – slika 3

Svečani sprevod ob 15-letnici delovanja Godbe Cerknica leta 1939

Cerknica je bila v preteklosti pravi
obrtniški kraj, močna je bila predvsem
čevljarska bratovščina. Ob koncu 19.
stoletja je v kraju živelo okoli sto obrtnikov,
veliko tudi na osrednji trški
ulici, sedanji Partizanski cesti. Na njej
so bili med drugimi čevljar, fotograf,
gostilničar, kolar, tapetnik, krojač,
mizar, frizer, urar pa tudi hotel,
sodišče, zapori, šola ter nekaj kmetov.
Ulica je po 2. svetovni vojni zgubila to
značilno podobo.
Cerknica was a vibrant artisan community
in the past, with a particularly
strong shoemaker’s fraternity. About a
hundred artisans lived here at the end
of the 19th century, many of them on
the main market street which is now
Partizanska cesta road. Located there
were a shoemaker, a photographer, an
innkeeper, a choler, an upholsterer,
tailor, carpenter, hairdresser, watchmaker,
hotel, court, prison, a school
and some farmers. The street lost its
characteristic image after the Second
World War.
